Three things AMA 11 asks for that people get wrong
Initials without full stops
AMA writes 'Aspelmeyer M', as Vancouver does: no comma between the surname and the initials, and no full stops.
Six authors, or three and et al.
List up to six authors. With seven or more, list the first three and then et al. This is the rule people most often carry over wrongly from Vancouver, which lists six.
doi: at the end, instead of a link
Write the DOI as doi:10.1038/nphys1170, with no space and no https prefix. When a source has a DOI, AMA uses it in place of the URL.
Web pages need an accessed date
AMA asks for the date you looked at a web page. The generator cannot know it, so add Accessed and the date before the URL.

The 11th edition of the AMA Manual of Style, published in 2020, which is the current one.
Are journal names abbreviated in AMA?
Yes, with the NLM abbreviation, such as Nat Phys for Nature Physics. When the Crossref record carries the abbreviation the generator uses it; otherwise check the NLM Catalog.
How do in-text citations work in AMA?
With superscript numbers in the order sources are first cited, placed after full stops and commas. A page for a quotation goes in brackets inside the superscript.
